FAPESP and British Council will support research workshops Workshops proposals in any area of knowledge will be accepted until July 14th

FAPESP and the British Council issue a call for proposals to support research workshops. The institutions will provide financial support to bring together a UK/São Paulo State cohort of early career researchers to take part in a workshop focusing on building links for future collaboration and enhancing the researchers’ career opportunities.

Proposals will be accepted in any discipline/multidisciplinary area of knowledge. Workshops must be coordinated by two leading researchers, one from UK, one from an institution in the State of São Paulo, Brazil, and will focus on either a specific research area or an interdisciplinary theme.

The workshop coordinators can identify up to four other leading or well-established researchers to be involved in the workshop, to act as mentors, but the remaining participants must be researchers at an earlier stage in their career.

Leading researchers should apply to be workshop coordinators and propose a theme for the workshop using the application form. It must be a joint application, with one coordinator based at a UK institution and one based at a São Paulo State Institution. The applicants can be of any nationality.

The workshops will take place in the State of São Paulo and should take place before the end of March 2014. Workshops should be held in English.

Applicants should submit proposals before 14th July 2013 to the British Council and FAPESP.

The call for proposals is available at: www.fapesp.br/en/7855.
