FAPESP/M-ERA.NET Consortium: Guidelines for applicants 2015 Versão em português

Introduction

M-ERA.NET is an EU funded network which has been established to support and increase the coordination of European research programmes and related funding in materials science and engineering. The aim of M-ERA.NET consortium is to fund transnational high risk R&D projects addressing Materials Science and Engineering including micro and nano technologies, production processes and technologies. The specific objectives for the M-ERA.Net Call 2015 (www.m-era.net/joint-call-2015) are increasing synergy, support for innovation chain, international cooperation, interdisciplinarity and socio-ecological benefits. Proposals will typically be smaller than proposals submitted to the EU Framework Programme.

With the objective of fostering scientific collaborations between researchers in São Paulo, Brazil and their colleagues associated to partners of the M.ERA.Net, FAPESP announces that it will receive proposals from researchers associated with Higher Education and Research Institutions and Companies in the State of São Paulo, who participate in proposals submitted to the M-ERA.Net Call 2015.

In addition to the M-ERA.Net Call 2015 guidelines (www.m-era.net/joint-call-2015), proposals to FAPESP must be submitted either as a Regular Research Awards (www.fapesp.br/137#4772) or as a Technological Innovation in Small Businesses Program (PIPE – phase II www.fapesp.br/58#3) scheme and must follow the guidelines below:

1. The applicants from the São Paulo State invited by the M-ERA.NET Consortium to submit full proposals must also submit a proposal to FAPESP following deadlines of the M-ERA.Net Call 2015 timeline.

2. The proposals must follow the FAPESP standard rules for:

a. Regular Research Award or

b. Innovative Research in Small Business (PIPE – phase II)

3. Exceptionally for this call:

a. The maximum project duration is up to 36 months and the proposal must be submitted in English.

b. The requested budget (total request to FAPESP, including Overheads (“Reserva Técnica”), must be less than € 100.000,00 per proposal, for proposals with 36 month duration. For shorter proposals the ceiling value is proportionally smaller.

4. Submissions of the full proposal to FAPESP, as indicated at item 1 of these guidelines, can only be accepted in paper, via mail, to the following address: Rua Pio XI, 1500, Alto da Lapa, CEP 05468-901 – São Paulo/SP, with “Chamada FAPESP/M-ERA.NET Consortium 2015” written on the envelope. It will be considered the date of the postal postmark stamped on the envelope. Proposals submitted by any other means will not be accepted. Late submissions will not be reviewed.

4.1 No proposal will be accepted after the closing date for submission, nor will any addendum or explanation be accepted, unless those explicitly and formally requested by FAPESP or M-ERA.NET Consortium.

4.2 Proposals that do not comply with the terms of these Guidelines will not qualify for analysis.
