Biotechnologies for efficient and improved production of food crops and bioenergy

The São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and the Japan Science and Technology Agency (JST) invite you to the

FAPESP-JST JOINT
WORKSHOP 2019

Biotechnologies for efficient and improved production of food crops and bioenergy
November 5th, 2019
8h30 to 17h30 – FAPESP

This workshop aims to highlight scientific findings and technological advances in biotechnologies, and provide an opportunity to exchange the views on possible international collaboration in the future.

Crops provide us with food, animal feeds, energy and much more. Given that the global population continues to grow, increase in the capacity of crop production worldwide is much needed. However, sustainable crop production is threatened by problems such as degradation of agricultural land, outbreaks of pests, unstable temperature/rainfall, which can be accentuated by projected climate change. Advanced technologies including biotechnologies are highly expected to be applied to address these global challenges in crop production.
