Administrative Director
Full Professor at the School of Food Engineering (FEA) of the University of Campinas (UNICAMP). He served as Rector of UNICAMP from April 2021 to April 2025, having previously held the positions of Graduate Studies Coordinator and Director of the School of Food Engineering.
He holds a bachelor's and a master's degree in Food Engineering from Unicamp, a Ph.D. in Process Engineering from the Technische Hochschule Merseburg (now part of Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg-MLU, Germany), and a Ph.D. in Economic Science from the Institute of Economics at UNICAMP.
He is a member of the International Academy of Food Science and Technology (IAFoST) and serves on the Board of Trustees of the Center for Research and Development in Telecommunications (CPQD). Before assuming the position of Administrative Director, he was a member of FAPESP's Board of Trustees.
His research focuses on process engineering, food science and technology, biofuels, bioenergy, and innovation.
